According to the country's National News Agency (NNA), a mayor is among the four people killed in an Israeli airstrike in the town of Baaloul in the Beqaa Valley in eastern Lebanon.
The Lebanese Health Ministry announced the deaths of four people on Saturday following an "Israeli enemy attack on Baaloul in western Beqaa," without naming the mayor specifically.
According to NNA's report, the mayor of the nearby town of Sohmor, Haidar Shahla, is among those killed in the "airstrike on a residential building."
Rescue workers are working to identify body parts and remains found in the rubble, according to the Health Ministry.
Contacted the Israeli military about the incident.
A geolocated image showed a large cloud of smoke rising behind a mosque in Baaloul.
