LIVE UPDATES: Gibbs runs 70 yards to end zone, Lions take 14-7 lead into first quarter

The Lions regained the lead in one game. Gibbs' 70-yard touchdown gave Detroit a 14–7 lead.

After the touchback, it was first and 10 at the Detroit 30-yard line when Gibbs took the pass and exploded into the open field, sprinting down the sideline untouched for a 70-yard touchdown run. He had already surpassed his longest touchdown run from last week and with a nice extra point, the Lions quickly regained the lead. (3:57)

With Goff fired, the Titans responded to tie the game 7–7

Rudolph made a play-action on first down, finding Josh Hoyle completely unmarked who ran to complete a 33-yard pass. The Titans used their first timeout with 5:33 left in the first quarter, then Boyd made a five-yard catch on first down. On second down, Ridley made a tough, contested catch to Brian Branch for 26 yards, then Rudolph hit Ben Niemann for an 11-yard touchdown run. The extra point is good and the Titans tie the game. Gibbs had an 11-yard run on first down. Goff's pass to Allen Robinson, who is replacing Jameson Williams in the lineup, is short and incomplete, then Goff is sacked by Roger McCreary for a 13-yard loss. On third-and-23, Goff was sacked again by Keys and fumbled, which Kevin Zeitler recovered to give the Lions another punt. Fox throws a powerful 67-yard pass to Jackson, who returns it to the Tennessee 25. (6:20)

Jackson took the kickoff and returned it to the Tennessee 29, but Malcolm Rodriguez was seen going off the field after the kickoff. Pollard found a gap on first down and gained 17 yards to move the chains, then rushed for another four-yard gain on the next play. On his third straight run, Pollard was intercepted by Aleem McNeil and lost two yards to make it third-and-eight, as Carlton Davis nearly intercepted the pass. The Titans punted the ball to Califf Raymond, who returned it 10 yards to the Detroit 17. (8:15)

Nowaske gets the first interception, Montgomery finds the end zone, and the Lions take an early 7-0 lead.

David Montgomery gets his first carry since the last game against the Vikings, gaining nine yards and 15 more after a facemask penalty on Key. Montgomery gets the second carry and takes it into the end zone for a 7-yard touchdown run. Jack Betts' extra point is good, and the Lions take an early lead. (10:31)

As Tony Pollard got his first carry for four yards, Mason Rudolph started in place of the injured Will Levis. Rudolph then found Calvin Ridley for 13 yards and a first down, and Pollard gained nothing in the next play. It's second-and-10 when Rudolph is pressured by Levi Onwuzrik and throws to Trevor Nowask for the interception. Nowaske takes it to the Tennessee 23 as the Lions have excellent field position to begin their second drive. (11:07)

(Start of first quarter) The Lions get into action on first down, but Arden Key gets a blindside sack from Jared Goff for a seven-yard loss. Goff then threw a short throw to Amon-Ra St. Brown for six yards, then Jahmir Gibbs also caught a short pass for six yards as the Lions punted. Zach Fox kicked it to Ja'Quan Jackson, who fumbled but recovered it at the Tennessee 15-yard line. (12:57)

kickoff

The Week 8 matchup between the Titans and Lions is underway. The Lions are wearing their all-blue uniforms, while the Titans are wearing white uniforms and powder blue pants. Tennessee won the toss and decided to punt, meaning the Lions would start at their own 30-yard line after the touchback.

Pregame

After some high-profile road games, the Lions returned to Ford Field to take on the Tennessee Titans.

After beating the Vikings, 31-29, last week to clinch first place in the NFC North, the Lions look to extend their winning streak to five straight, which would be their longest since 2016.

They will be without one of their young weapons on offense, as Jameson Williams is serving the first of a two-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing substance policy. Williams was suspended for the second time in his young career.
