The Dallas Cowboys still have a 5-7 record, but they have momentum on their side after Thursday's 27-20 victory over the New York Giants.
And Micah Parsons believes the best is yet to come.
The pass rusher said he believes the team will "go on a roll" despite the gossip surrounding the team's starting lineup. He also took to social media.
Parsons and the defense set the tone Thursday, sacking Drew Locke six times. DeMarvion Overshown also intercepted a screen pass and returned it for a touchdown to give the home team the lead in the second quarter.
He never relinquished that advantage.
Part of Thursday's performance can certainly be attributed to facing a Giants team that now has a 2-10 record and is coming off a losing season. Locke was only at center because previously released Daniel Jones is now with the Minnesota Vikings and Tommy DeVito was sidelined with a hand injury.
But the defense looked much better than it has for most of the season, as it entered the game ranked 31st in the league in points allowed per game (29.0). If Thursday's game is any indication of what's to come, the Cowboys can still make a strong run down the stretch.
The next two games are against the Cincinnati Bengals (4-7) and Carolina Panthers (3-8), so there's a chance to improve to .500.
However, the final stretch includes games against the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders. Considering Dallas may have to win every game to make the playoffs with a 10-7 record, those games are certainly different.
But Parsons is still confident after the last win.
