Philadelphia Eagles First Quarter Struggles Continue Against Cleveland Browns

 


The 2-2 Eagles are back at Lincoln Financial Field to face the 1-4 Browns on a beautiful day in South Philadelphia.

The Eagles had a bye last week but return with a fully healthy lineup after missing A.J. Brown for three games and missing DeVonta Smith and Lane Johnson in the Week 4 loss to the Buccaneers.

Senior Eagle Brandon Graham played his 200th career game today - the most in Eagles history.

First Quarter

The Eagles got the ball first and were forced into a three-and-out after a 5-yard run by Saquon Barkley and two missed attempts by A.J. Brown and Dallas Goedert. The Browns offense followed with a three-and-out to start the game. Center Nick Harris went down after a 3rd-and-5 penalty and had to be carried off the field with an injury.

The first snap of the second drive for the Eagles went over Jalen Hurts' head, but he was able to pick it up and throw it away before the defense could reach it. After a 4th-and-1 tush-push conversion, the Eagles were unable to advance and had to punt again.

Goedert left the field with a hamstring injury and is questionable as to whether he will be able to return.

Browns running back Jerome Ford left the field with a hamstring injury on the second drive and is questionable if he can return.

Cooper DeJean recorded his first career sack after the Eagles appealed an incomplete pass call that was overturned after Deshaun Watson's knee touched the ground before he threw the ball.
